Privacy Policy
We ask for very little, and what we do ask for is so that a person can call you back. This page explains exactly what that means.
What we collect
Almost everything we hold, you typed and sent us on purpose. When you fill in a form on this site, we receive what you put in it:
- Your name, email address, and phone number.
- What you tell us about the project: the location, the rough scope, your budget range, and your timing.
- Anything else you choose to write in the message field.
What we collect automatically
Like most websites, ours records basic technical information when you visit: the pages you looked at, the site or search that sent you, roughly where in the world you are, and what browser and device you used. This is aggregate traffic data. We use it to understand which of our pages are useful and which are not.
We do not use it to build a personal profile of you, and we do not sell it.
Why we collect it
To reply to you, and to have a sensible first conversation about your project. That is the whole purpose. If you ask us about a house in Newport Beach, we want to arrive at that conversation already knowing what you told us.
We may also use your details to follow up on an enquiry you have already started, or to send you something you specifically asked for. We do not add you to a marketing list because you contacted us.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses cookies and similar technologies for two things: making the site work as you move around it, and measuring traffic in aggregate. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work.
Most browsers also offer a Do Not Track setting or an equivalent privacy control. Where your browser tells us you have turned one on, we respect it.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your information, and we do not trade or rent it to anyone.
A small number of service providers process it on our behalf so that this site can function: our website host, the service that delivers form submissions to our inboxes, our email provider, and our analytics provider. They are permitted to handle your information only to provide that service to us.
Beyond that, we disclose information only where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect our rights or someone else’s safety.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept as long as they are useful, which for a custom home can be a long time. People often talk to us a year or more before they are ready to build, and we would rather have the history than ask you to repeat yourself.
If you would rather we did not, say so and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us through the contact page and we will handle it ourselves.
If you are a California resident, state law gives you specific rights over your personal information, including the right to know what is collected, the right to have it deleted, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising either. We apply the same approach to everyone who writes to us, wherever you live.
Keeping it safe
We use reputable providers and take sensible precautions to protect what you send us. No website or email system is perfectly secure, though, so please do not send anything highly sensitive through a web form. Financial details belong in a phone call.
Children
This site is meant for adults considering building a home. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top of it. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
